Already Passed the Old Exam?

If you've already passed the ethics exam at engineers.texas.gov/ethics, we will manually import your passing results soon. You do not need to take this exam again.

Note: If your previous exam was more than 6 months old, you may need to retake it. Contact support if you have questions about your previous exam status.

Getting Started
  • What is this for?: The engineering ethics exam is ONLY for applicants for a P.E. license in Texas
  • Account Access (current application): Check your application status and click the Ethics Exam link
  • Account Access (no application): Sign in with your email address at the bottom of the Ethics Exam Homepage
  • Technical Requirements: Use a modern web browser with stable internet connection
Taking the Exam
  • Saving Progress: Your answers are automatically saved as you progress
  • Passing Score: A score of 90% or higher is required to pass the examination
  • Previous Questions: You can't go back to change your answers - but you can start over at any time (click "Home" on the menu)
  • Retaking: There are no limits on how many times you can take this exam
Application Status
  • Linking Results: Connect your exam results to your PE application through the status page
  • Processing Time: Results are typically processed within 5 business days
  • Verification: Your passing status will be marked complete in your application
  • Certificate: You can print or save your results page (not necessary)

  • Browser Problems: Clear your browser cache and cookies, or try a different browser
  • Login Issues: Check your junk email for the login link from ethics@notify.pels.texas.gov
  • Connectivity: Ensure you have a stable internet connection throughout the exam
  • System Maintenance: Check back later if the system is temporarily unavailable
