As of May 2023, the exam requirements to become a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas have changed. The previously used 8 hour RPLS exam has been replaced with a combination of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Principles and Practice of Professional Surveying (PS) exam and a new Texas Specific Surveying Exam (TSSE).
Information Regarding the NCEES PS and New TSSE Exams PS & TSSE Exam FAQTSSE exams will be offered 3 times per year (Spring, Summer, and Fall). All applications submitted before the application deadline will be considered for approval to sit for the exam. Once you have been notified that your application has been approved for exams, please submit the TSSE Payment Submission Form along with a check or money order for the indicated payment - DO NOT SUBMIT THIS EXAM REGISTRATION FORM UNTIL WE NOTIFY YOU THAT YOU'VE BEEN APPROVED.
